I gave up some free time over the festive period to volunteer at the All Saints Parish Hall on Frances Road which was providing free Christmas lunches to the elderly and homeless.
I also drove several resident’s home safely after the event had finished. It was a memorable occasion – Merry Christmas everyone!

As a young British Muslim leader, Cllr Bhatti was invited to a roundtable with the Director and Head of the Prosecution Policy at the CPS. The roundtable allowed Islamic community representatives to feedback on the CPS’s new community engagement strategy and hate awareness campaign. It also created a platform for a diverse group of grassroot Muslim organisations to discuss their perceptions and concerns surrounding the CPS.

I was invited as an expert young leader on interfaith to share my knowledge and experience with other European organisations. The aim of the Paris conference was to bring together expert young leaders from a range of countries to work together at the European level to strengthen coalitions focused on intercultural, interreligious and inter-identity dialogue.

I donated my annual members budget to ensure we had a Dedworth Christmas Tree, to the 12th Windsor Scout Troop and to the Dedworth Library. I hope these little contributions will benefit each of them.

I was invited to the US Embassy for a private screening on how the illegal ivory trade is being tackled. I believe its important that we protect the rhinos before they go extinct and hope my constituents will join me in saying no to poaching and to saving our precious species before they are extinct.

With the average age of councillors currently standing at 59 (LGA/I&DeA) young people can face a particularly difficult task in overcoming barriers to becoming elected. This award recognises a councillor who was 30 or under when last elected and who has contributed significantly to their community.

On 16 November 2017, Cllr Hashim Bhatti, the founder of London’s first Interfaith Summit 2015 voluntarily organised the third summit with 3FF Alumni committee members/Three Faiths Forum. Over 450 young people attended the summit with tickets sold out in advance.

I was selected to attend the Pakistan Diaspora Future Leaders programme 2017 which was run by Common Purpose and the British Council. As some of you may know, I was the first British Pakistani to be elected in Windsor and I am the only British Pakistani Conservative councillor under the age of 30.
